Due to the incipient number of platforms to view digital content, it is understandable that before signing up for Disney Plus (or similar) you want to know what Internet speed you need . That is why we have considered in The MrAppsGeek that it would be interesting to make a tutorial to find out how much video quality your connection supports . In this way you will be able to know if your Internet supports 4K without any problem.
What types of resolutions are there?
To put ourselves in context of the situation, the best thing to do is to point out which are the different types of resolution that exist today in 2023 (or at least the most used):
- 1280 × 720 (720p, HD)
- 1920 x 1080 (1080p, FHD)
- 2560 x 1440 (2k, WQHD)
- 3840 x 2160 (4k, UHD)
To find out how much video resolution my connection can support , we are going to use an application called SpeedTest which is an excellent Internet speed test tool .

How to Know What Video Quality My Connection Can Support Easy and Fast 2023
To measure the video transmission capacity with Speed Test , all we have to do is open the app, go to the tab called “Video” (located at the bottom of the screen) and click “Accept” , as indicated in the following image.
- Once we are in the “Video” section .
- We must press the “Play” symbol located in the central part of the screen to start the test.
Now we will have to be patient since the application will begin to load videos in different resolutions to know which is the most optimal quality according to our connection .
After a few seconds it will appear which is the maximum resolution that our Internet connection supports .
If we repeat the test, it is possible that the recommended resolution varies, for example in my case I have 100 megabytes of connection but my PC only reaches 60 and the maximum quality is between 2 and 4K .
Now you know how much video quality my connection supports , if you want you can comment on the resolution that your connection supports and how many megabytes you have contracted.
