Create A Text Document
It’s that simple to start our tutorial to put a password on folders in Windows, right-click on your desktop and create a text document .
Edit the name of the text document and give it a name like “Windows Folder Hider with Password” or something similar. Once edited, we will open it .

Now we must go to the section that says “CHANGE-THIS-TEXT-BY-YOUR-PASSWORD” and put the password we want (in my case I put MrAppsGeek).
Now we will give File>Save as..
After clicking “Save As…” we must put the extension “.bat” (without quotes) to our text document, we will click “Save” later.

Now we will see that a new .bat file has appeared on our desktop , we must follow the following steps:
- Delete the old text document.
- Run the BAT file .
If we have done it right we will see that a new folder called “protected folder” has been created , you must follow the steps below:

- We run the “Hider” again .

Now we will see that a “Command Prompt” screen appears asking us… “Do you want to hide the protected folder? (Y/N) , put an “S” (without quotes) and press “ENTER” .
If we have done it correctly, we will realize that the Protected Folder is hidden . Don’t worry, to make it visible we must execute the “Hider” again .
How to put a password to Windows folders without programs and without being an expert
Again we will see a “Command Prompt” window in which it will ask us the following question: “Enter the password to show the Protected Folder” , we must put the password that we put in our old text document (in my case MrAppsGeek).
